Q.What is your role as Head Real Estate Portugal?
R. I am responsible for the real estate area of wecity in Portugal. My duties range from the analysis and selection of financing projects in the real estate sector that meet strict criteria of viability and profitability, to the development and maintenance of strategic relationships with developers, partners and other players in the real estate market. These relationships are fundamental to the success of our projects and to ensuring that wecity continues to grow and consolidate its position in the Portuguese market. My goal is to ensure that each project not only meets financial expectations, but also that it meets our requirements and has the capacity to fulfill the commitments made to our investors.
What do you like most about this sector?
What I appreciate most about the real estate sector is its diversity and dynamism. This is a constantly evolving sector, which presents a stimulating challenge and continuous opportunities for innovation and growth. In addition, the real estate sector offers an interesting combination of disciplines. It involves everything from financial analysis and investment strategy to project management and sustainable development. This multidisciplinarity allows me to work with professionals from different areas and to learn constantly, which greatly enriches my professional experience. I also enjoy the relational aspect of the industry. Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with investors, partners and other stakeholders is fundamental.
How have the 7 projects funded so far in Portugal gone?
The seven projects financed so far in Portugal have been a success. All of them financed within a few hours, which demonstrates the confidence of our investors in the analysis and selection of the opportunities we propose for financing. All of them, with different characteristics, offer not only a high level of profitability, but also a guarantee of financing backed by collateral, never exceeding 70% LTV. In addition, the real estate market in Portugal has shown robust growth in recent years, driven by several factors such as economic recovery, tourist attractiveness and government policies favorable to foreign investment. Cities such as Lisbon, Porto and the Algarve have been the main sources of both domestic and international investment.
